Meetings

Meetings are held at 2pm on the first Saturday of March, June, September and December. At present meetings are held via ZOOM.  Email [email protected] for link and password a few days prior to the meeting. Refer to our posts under Latest News for the date of the next meeting

The meetings usually have a guest speaker, sometimes one of the members.  The topics vary but are always of a nature to provide interest to those attracted to our cause.  Frequently there are ‘visual treasures’ to accompany the speaker that serve in some form to illustrate the talk.  Such treasures are not necessarily rare or of great intrinsic value, rather they are special to the speaker in their own way.  Members are encouraged to participate and to offer talks themselves if they so desire.

Meetings conclude with questions, discussion and socialising.

The December meeting has traditionally been a ‘Show and Tell’ opportunity for all members to bring along something special to them and describe its interest in a very brief manner.  There is a vote and prize for what those in attendance consider the best presentation.

In Melbourne there are three or four meetings each year, including an annual “Show and Tell” event.  They also have an annual dinner. The Show and Tell is held in February at the State Library of Victoria.
Those interested should contact Edwin Jewell for details.

We encourage you to come along (without obligation and there is no charge for attendance at meetings) and hope you will join us.  Our annual membership fee of $35(or $45 for household [2 adults] or organisational) includes the four annual issues of Biblionews and Australian Notes & Queries.
