BCSA AGM and MEETING SATURDAY 7 SEPTEMBER AT 2PM

Our AGM will be held at 2 pm followed by a general meeting.

A National Book Collecting Prize for Young Australians

Dr Dawn Albinger (PhD) enjoyed a career in theatre as a writer, actress and producer before being seduced by the world of antiquarian, rare and collectible books. She is co-owner of Archives Fine Books with her husband Hamish Alcorn and is currently the President of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers (ANZAAB). She is a fan of Australian poet Judith Wright, loves researching provenance, and has a small collection of mostly contemporary books on death and dying.

In 2019 Archives Fine Books (Brisbane) launched a book collecting prize for young collectors (under 35 years old) in the Greater Brisbane area. In 2023 they opened the prize to ALL young Australians, making it Australia’s first national book collecting prize. Join Dawn Albinger as she shares her inspiration for initiating the prize, its short history and her vision for its future.
